Our Story

After my wonderful experience at Melissa Ashley Brides I brought my sister and my best friend to find their dresses there. I would see Denise a couple times a year and I would joke how I was going to buy her bridal shop one day. Lo and behold in 2017 that manifestation came to reality. From their I spent the last 6 years creating the brand and adding to the shop. After much though and guidance from my friends in the industry our new name Blue Violet Bridal Prom and Tux was born. The name comes from the fact that Violet’s are the state flower of Rhode Island and their are over 100 different types of Violets, as unique as our brides and we also wanted to make sure we included all that we do in our shop! I love this shop and pour my heart and soul into it every day. As the mother of 3 beautiful girls being a small business owner is super important to me because it shows them how when they have a dream they can achieve it, but I also strive to create a space where every person walks through the door can feel beautiful because teaching my girls to love themselves and their bodies and all the amazing things it can do is important to me

We want every customer who walks through our doors to feel like family. That is why we went to our appointment based schedule so that we could give you our full attention. We offer a shopping experience that bigger stores aren’t able to provide with an intimate atmosphere and one on one service. We meet brides at all different journey’s of their shopping experience and we take pride in tailoring our appointment to our brides. We want every bride to feel heard and be able to try on all the different styles they want. We value the intimate conversations and the relationships we build while dressing people for some of the most important days of their lives. We like to make the process as stress free as possible and that’s why we always like to say shopping with us is like shopping with your best friend. Shop Our Diverse Inventory and Find The Right Dress for You!

We are a small shop with a big inventory. We have almost 200 dresses in the store but all that matters is that we have the right dress for you! We spend a lot of time getting feedback and seeing what brides are buying, being educated on the newest trends in the bridal industry and making sure that our dresses range from classic bridal to unique. We also offer a large variety of sizes in our store starting at an 8 going all the way to a 28. 40% of our inventory also falls into the plus size wedding dress sizes.
