Blue Violet Bridal sitting just on the border of Connecticut and Rhode Island see’s so many Connecticut Brides and Rhode Island Brides! We have brides who have Mystic Weddings, Newport Weddings, Destination Weddings and backyard weddings . Weddings at Wright’s Mill Farm in Canterbury, CT and Maple Lane Farms in Preston, CT. Some of our brides have their weddings at the Inn in Mystic and weddings at the Towers in Narragansett. Other brides are loving the wineries like Kingdom of the Hawk in North Stonington or Stonington Vineyard. Above all each venue is unique to our brides and their wedding day! We are going to break down the trends we saw this fall and to give our predictions for 2026 wedding trends!

Wedding Dresses

Our brides continue to have a varied style with no one dress being a major standout as our best seller. New England Weddings tend to lend themselves to being able to morph into many different themes. We have the classic New England style wedding dresses with clean and classic fabrics. Sometimes the classics are getting a twist with pearly or delicate lace edging.

We also have an uptick in brides loving a burnout or sheet lace dress. One of our senior stylists Jen says “My brides have really been leaning into lace with no beading for more of that organic lace look.” It is refreshing to have brides with different sense of styles because it makes every appointment interesting. Our other senior stylist Morgan says “I am seeing brides that are really loving that boho wedding dress. They love the unique laces or long sleeves!” So as you can see our Connecticut Brides and Rhode Island Brides haven’t been following any major bridal trends other than being true to themselves and finding dresses that represent who they are!

Suit Colors

The owner Kayla who is our expert suit stylist says that suits in more natural hues were all the rage this year. “We have been seeing an uptick in tans browns and greens for our suit rentals. The brides have started to love the more earthy tones for their weddings. They are really leaning into the fall colors for their fall New England weddings. However, as our bridal shop is on the coast of Connecticut and Rhode Island we will continue to see a strong pull towards the coastal colors and blues will end up being our number one suit rental color for 2025.”

Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom Dresses

Additionally, Mother of the Bride and Mother of the Groom’s have been surprising us this year! We still are seeing the classic styles and Navy continues to be our number one colors for Mother’s dresses. The trends that have been on the uptick though are the brighter and bolder colors. We are seeing mom’s want brighter blues, brighter pinks and dresses that make a statement! Kayla Thompson the owner and mom whisperer says “Mom’s are starting to embrace that they will be a focal point of the wedding and are wanting to have a really fabulous dress! We are seeing mom’s who want to go bolder in their colors or wearing a print and I love that trend! You can really tell when a mother of the bride or mother of the groom feels beautiful in their dress because their smile just radiates!”
